OUR CERTIFICATIONS

ORGANIC EU
Organic certification is a standard assigned by the European Union, which establishes specific rules and conditions, so that a food can be declared of organic origin.
The “Euro-leaf” symbol is shown on the label only of products that fulfill these requirements.
The conditions to be respected for an organic food are the following:
- 95% of the ingredients has to come from organic agriculture, where the use of fertilizers or active substances chemical in nature is not allowed.
- the label must show the names of the
producer and the seller, as well the operator code of the organic certification
body that checked the last operation before the sale on the market. - processing, packaging, storage and transport cycles must always be separate and distinct from non-organic (conventional) ones.
- product control through laboratory analysis (multi-residual) which certifies the absence of chemical residues.

NOP
It is the standard recognized by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) which accredits and certifies organic products in US soil.
According to the 2012 agreement signed with the EU, all products certified with the Euro Leaf logo can be marketed as organic in the United States, if issued with NOP (Import Certificate).

BIOSUISSE
It is the organic certification standard of Swiss origin.
The Gem symbol marks this standard.
The certification represents the main points of the European regulation and can be issued by Swiss or other national bodies in charge, but recognized only by the Biosuisse body itself.

JAS
It is the Japanese certification body which regulates the products of agricultural origin which are to be equipped by this mark in the land of the Rising Sun.
Through an agreement stipulated with the EU, products certified with the Euro Leaf symbol are recognized as organic also in Japan.
For export, each European company must join the same JAS body by filling in forms certifying that certifies that procedures adopted in food production comply with organic standards.

KOSHER
Kosher in Hebrew language means “in compliance with the law” or “suitable”.
By Kosher diet we mean the set of religious rules in nutrition that must be respected by observant Jews and which are meticulously described in the Bible (Torah).
These biblical rules are very strict and specific and certification is not always an easy process to carry out, as only certain foods are allowed and many common ingredients are prohibited as well as the mixing of some of them within the same meal (for example meat and dairy products).
Besides the ingredients used, also the entire production process must be Kosher, this means that all the machineries must be hot cleaned before being used, in order to eliminate impurities that come from previous non-Kosher processing.
